FORTY-FOUR YEARS
I contemplate the grand design
Where love effulgant is sublime,
And where, as one, we both may share
Eternal Glory - - Tender care - -
Across the vast eternities,
Where time doth cease its energies,
With full expression and desire
Our talents flourish, like a fire
With consuming sweet excitement,
Love expanding, great at-one-ment.
Yes, thou art mine, and I am thine
In sweet embrace with kiss divine.
We now look back across the years
With confidence, and flowing tears
Of joy for all that's heaven sent - -
As though a holy sacrament.
Hear now the chorus from on high - -
Posterity assemble nigh,
For never shall alone we'll be,
Frow now throughout Eternity.
