I MUST NEEDS BE COGNIZANT
Imposing undue piety
May often cause anxiety,
Suggesting impropriety
In him who so portrays.
For what is the integrity
Attaching to identity
Unless one has full honesty
In everything he says.
Yes, each of us communicates
In word or deed that radiates,
For good or ill, that em'mates
From what is dear within.
Then I must needs be cognizant
Of feelings, with enoblement,
Through love and peace that make content
Each day . . . as hopes begin.
