I TEST MYSELF

I test myself whenever I am 
Critical of others;

I test myself whenever I think 
Any less of brothers.

I test myself whenever I do less 
Than very best;

I test myself when I prevail — 
Forgetting all the rest.

I test myself when talking 
If Another can't be heard;

I test myself when holding ground 
With arguments absurd.

I test myself the most of all
When money is Involved,

For money is the test wherein 
Is Character evolved.

And so each thought, each word, each act 
Reveals the testing score

That Is for me, and lest I change, 
Will be forevermore.
