IF I WAS

IF I WAS

If I was but a 1ittle bird

Up high within a tree,

Then I could peek out from the branch

And take a look at me,

But if I could look out at me

Then how could I be in a tree?

If I was but a little worm

In dampened earth so cool,

Then I could peek out at the sky

Or s1ither in a pool.

But if I slithered in a pool

How could I be in earth so cool?

If I was but an insect small

In flower's petaled bloom,

I'd sit all day with necter sweet,

Fresh odours fill the room.

Yes, if I was in petaled bloom

I'd breath sweet odours in the room.
